Local Piers

Kitty Hawk Pier- This northern-most pier nestled behind the Hilton Garden Inn is known for its historic views and wedding receptions. Recently renovated and reopened in 2008. After being smashed in 2003 by Hurricane Isabel, this pier offers a unique setting for wedding receptions, and many other social events. This pier sits on high pilings over viewing the Atlantic Ocean. Even though the pier was shortened by our most recent Hurricane, this pier is still known for some great fishing.

Avalon Fishing Pier- Its all in the name.... Avalon FISHING Pier, and trust me when I say this pier in specific lives up to that name. Located at Milepost 6 on the beach road, this pier has it all. The pier originally built in 1958 and approximately 700 feet long offers more than just spectacular fishing and a beautiful view. This pier features a snack bar, tackle shop with bait and tackle, and arcade games for the kiddos.

Jennette's Pier- Located in South Nags Head, this pier is visibly different than any of the other piers in the area. After taking a critical beating in 2003 by Hurricane Isabel this pier was renovated into the beautiful concrete structure it is today. This pier has an OUTSTANDING on-site educational center, seasonal programs for visitors of ALL ages, and of course, some pretty spectacular fishing off the 1,000 foot long pier.

Outer Banks Fishing Pier- Located at Milepost 18.5 this fishing pier is known for its great fishing and family environment. This 600 foot pier not only offers fun for ALL age groups but also offers a full service restaurant overlooking the Atlantic Sea. Fish-heads Restaurant and Bar is easily the best feature this pier has to offer. With over 32 different beers on tap and live music. Open 24/7 and a pier that requires no fishing license this may be the one for you.

Rodanthe Pier- This pier has without a doubt taken a few beatings from the past few Hurricanes, but one thing for certain is that this pier continuously makes a comeback. The rules for this pier are short and sweet. Since this is a family orientated pier that means no profanity and no intoxication. Adding to the fact that this pier is family orientated. The pier house features arcade games and tvs for the little's to relax while the parents get their fish on.

Avon pier- Opening its doors in 1963, Avon Fishing Pier is world famous with its many record catches, especially with the giant Red Drum that frequent the waters. Fishing is also made easy, as anglers are not required to purchase a fishing license. Everything you need for a day of fishing can be found at the Avon Pier. All you need to do is stop by and visit for yourself.
